Mark Duvall had a remarkable career spanning two decades, during which he dedicated his time and expertise to managing the audio department at Pollaro Multi-media Advertising and Productions (PMA&P). His role involved a diverse set of responsibilities, including writing, producing, engineering, and performing music for radio and television commercials. Beyond his work at PMA&P, Mark also served as the first-call engineer and guitarist for three other professional recording studios in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area. His contributions to the industry were substantial, with an impressive portfolio that included hundreds of jingles broadcasted nationwide, involvement in five movie soundtracks, and the production of numerous band demos and LPs.

Notably, Mark collaborated with a range of talented artists, with vocals on many of his jingles performed by renowned names such as Mark Chesnut, Sammy Kershaw, The Dixie Chicks, The Girls Next Door, Eric Tagg (known for his work with Pat Metheny), and H.L. Voelker (a backup singer for Neil Diamond). His diverse projects showcased his versatility and creativity within the music and advertising realms, leaving a lasting impact on the industry. Mark's extensive body of work not only demonstrated his technical prowess but also his ability to collaborate with top-tier talent, resulting in memorable and impactful music that resonated with audiences across the country.

Steven Emge/Bass/Vocals *

Steven "Doc" Emge, a native of Iowa, began his music journey at 14 by drumming and singing in the Shenandoah high school rock band — Free Flight. During the 1980s and early 1990s, he played drums and shared lead singing duties for the Des Moines pop/rock band "Quest," enjoying local success for over a decade. His passion for harmony singing blossomed, and he became the vocal arranger for every group he collaborated with since his days with Quest.

After receiving his second master’s degree in vocal performance & pedagogy and a Ph.D. in Music Education at the University of Iowa, Dr. Emge was hired to teach voice at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, OK. His passion for popular music, however, inspired him to create a univeristy fine arts general education course titled, “Music in American Society”. During his 27 years as a Southeastern Professor, the course became one of the most popular general education courses at the university and inspired him to return to his pop/rock roots.

He began learning to play the bass guitar through a local jazz quartet. For the past 10 years, he has played bass, shared lead singing roles, and served as a vocal arranger for various notable local bands, including TCRB (Texoma Classic Rock Band), the Pitchfork Band, and currently: The Off the Record Band.

Kyle Shaffer, known by his stage name Kyle Nova, is a talented musician hailing from North Texas, where he has captivated audiences with his skills as a keyboard player and vocalist. Nova's musical journey began early on, with a passion for guitar and piano emerging at the early age of 11. His involvement in the local church choir not only honed his vocal abilities but also exposed him to the intricacies of harmony, performance, and music theory.

As Nova delved deeper into his musical pursuits, his focus shifted to the piano, spending countless hours perfecting his craft after school. His foray into songwriting began early, with his first composition penned at just 12 years old. Throughout his high school years at Wylie High School, Nova immersed himself in music theory and improvisation as part of the stage band, while also collaborating with peers to write and record music at a local studio in Wylie, TX.

Transitioning to college life at Baylor University in Waco, Nova co-founded the band "Victory" with childhood friend, Richard Davis, releasing two albums and gaining recognition for their unique sound. Nova's musical ventures extended to Nashville, where he explored songwriting and performance opportunities with various bands, showcasing his versatility across different genres. Today, Nova continues to share his musical talents with audiences, playing with well-known bands like "Rocky & the Bullwinkles" and embarking on new projects such as "Off the Record" with fellow musicians, solidifying his legacy in the vibrant music scene of North Texas.

Ray Hurst is a versatile musician with a passion for music that spans across various genres. He first delved into the world of music at the age of 12 when he picked up the guitar. By the time he was 16, he expanded his musical talents by taking on the drums, a transition that arose when the drummer in his band switched to playing bass. Ray honed his skills by focusing on top 40 songs within the vibrant music scene of Corpus Christi, Texas.

His musical journey led him to Austin, Texas, where he immersed himself in classic rock with bands for approximately five years before making his way to Houston. In Houston, Ray showcased his musical prowess by playing in a country band while continuing to perform with classic rock ensembles. Subsequently, he settled in North Texas, where he has dedicated over a decade to entertaining audiences with his performances of classic rock and country music. Throughout his career, Ray has also explored various other genres such as soul, Olico, Tejano, blues, classic country, 50s-60s hits, folk, and more, showcasing his versatility and love for music.
